Because apparently, your late 20s aren’t chaotic enough—why not throw in a full-blown career pivot, a cross-country move, and the terrifying (but thrilling) realization that you’re officially an adult adult?
The “What Am I Doing With My Life?” Phase
Let’s rewind. Two years ago, I was fine. I had just moved back to Sydney after a stint in Melbourne. Good job, stable paycheck, cozy routine. But fine isn’t fulfilling. Fine doesn’t make your heart race when you think about Monday morning. And fine definitely doesn’t make you want to jump out of bed at 6 AM (unless it’s for a sale on Revolve, obviously).
I had built a career in Operations & People, but my real passion? Marketing. Storytelling. The kind of work that made me lose track of time. The problem? I had zero formal experience in it. Just a Notes app full of ideas, my blog & podcast and a closet that embarrassingly could clothe an entire school.

The Leap (Because Midlife Crises Aren’t Just for Men in Sports Cars)
After a few trips to the US, and one too many NYC Vlogs on YouTube, I decided to tell the company I was working for, what my goals were, which was to do a completely new role in a new team where I could be creative, yet efficient. After the support of them, I waited for the perfect role to pop up and applied for my dream job—a role that would put my creativity and organisation to work, in NYC. A reach if you were to ask me 2 years ago.
But SPOILER ALERT! I got the job!
Fast-forward through multiple butterflies, a very difficult few months of interviews and my second round of egg freezing, and the realization that my savings account was about to take a serious hit—I was moving to New York.

Why 30 Is the Perfect Time to Start Over
Society loves to tell women that by 30, we should have it all figured out—career, love life, skincare routine. But here’s the truth: 30 is just the beginning.
You’re smarter now. You know what you don’t want. You’ve survived bad bosses, worst dates, and at least one “Why did I think blonde was a good idea?” moment. You’re ready.
So if you’re sitting there, scrolling job listings at 2 AM, wondering if it’s too late to change paths—it’s not.
Take the leap. Move to a new city. Apply for the wild-card job. Worst case? You pivot again.
Because the only thing scarier than failing? Wondering “What if?” for the rest of your life.
Now, who’s booking a flight? ✨
